Alan, as you probably know---but I can help being pedantic---no one makes 16-ounce poly-viscose. The 16 ounce stuff we hear about is supposedly a blend with poly-viscose plus acetate (if not poly+viscose+acetate). I have no experience with it, but I love the Marton Mills PV whether it be 11, 12 or some other number of ounces.


Kilties, take note. Merriam-Webster says:
viscose: \ˈvis-ˌkōs, -ˌkōz\
viscous: \ˈvis-kəs\

I would try this in IPA, but (1) i have trouble with open O versus closed O, and I don't think I have the character set anyway (2) someone would say the posting belonged in the Pub. Anyway the fabric sounds like an "oh", the adjective sounds like an "uh."


Rayon is a trademark (of Dupont IIRC), and that's why the generic term is used instead.
