I prefer Panasonic, Olympus or Pentax when it comes to DSLR's, but Nikon hit a sweet spot with the D5000. I did not like the D40 or D80 series in comparison to the D70, but the D5000 has redeemed them in my eyes.
Oh, how I love me some Nikon. One of these days I'll actually invest in a digital version. Until that time, I'm stuck in the stone age with my F3. What can I say? It's built like a tank and will never let me down.
