Actually wool is the better choice as it breathes. If it gets wet it still keeps you warm. The excellent swish factor will move the air around your legs to keep you cool. It holds the pleat better. easy to clean as well. Drop it in a bathtub of cool water, gently agitate, towel dry then lay flat. A bit of steam or ironing and you're good to go again. Tanks are great. They can take a beating and look good and will last you a long time. When averaged out the tank will be cheaper in the long run for the years of service it will provide.

I wore my PV almost every day this past summer. I even wore it in the desert in the middle of July when it was almost 115 degrees. I certainly think that a PV from MartonMills is perfectly the answer for hot weather, however, I have noticed that I'm not as hot as I think I am GOING to be when I wear my wool out in hot weather. Go figure....

For 1 -2 hours--No problem for either. For more than 2 hours-PV ALL THE WAY!

Natural fibre or plastic? Rkilts do have hemp kilts, and hemp is one amazing natural fibre - warm in cooler weather, cooler in warmer weather. Stillwater wool kilts are about 13 oz.

Consider poly-viscous is 100% plastic - polyester and rayon. Natural fibres do breath better than man-made fibres. Hemp is one alternative to wool with quite remarkable properties. If the weight of wool concerns you then Stillwaters wool kilts are lighter than most wool kilts.

He wants a tartan kilt. My products are not in the mix nor should they be.
