Thinking of "all occasions" sporrans, here is my Ferguson Britt going from casual to formal. clicky to enlarge:

It has a black leather cantle, and blue iris mink fur. I had my eye on the black mink that Jamie wears, but a certain flame-haired goddess got to it first. However that worked out best for all concerned, because I fell for this one as soon as I saw it.

Lovely Ken... I just love those Ferguson Britt sporrans.

About a sporran for all modes of dress, and specifically the use of horsehair sporrans for all modes of dress, it once was that way...

Ya gotta love those deer's head hose! The ideal hose for a MacKenzie.

Thanks very much, good sir! And yeah, I have to tell you, these sporrans are fantastic- couldn't ask for better materials, craftsmanship, durability, or functionality. They come highly reccomended, from me.

...and as an aside, I was pretty excited when I found that buckle, let me tell you! Hand cast pewter, but an alloy that seems to be quite tough and hard- no bending of any sort. $30 wasn't a bad price either, I didn't think. They can be had here:

...I wasn't fond of the fact that it was marketed as a piece of pirate kit(no offence at all to pirates, of course...Arrrrrrr!!!), as I don't want folks to think I'm in some sort of costume, but I thought it looked old-school without looking too flashy or over the top.

That is from a ren-faire vender named Melissa Smith, her shop is called Grichels.

Yes indeed. It's an Inverarnan model in dark brown. Great functionality on this one, and for what it's worth, Lamar Britt seems to wear this particular model really frequently, himself.

Lamar made the coin bag and kilt belt, aswell. The belt was a special project, but that buckle can be found here:

As Ryan said, that is an Inverarnan model -- I like that one as well, particularly because of the wide opening.

And there is only one place to buy a Ferguson Britt sporran. :-)
