    I had the privilege of visiting Fort Gordon, Georgia this past Saturday. I wanted to show my gratitude to the servce members there, but decided to leave them alone instead. Shame on me.

    That is a nice video and the salute seems nice. Much nicer than getting spit on. Been there done that. However I don't know what is wrong with just saying "thank you for your service." It may be one of the problems of today's society that we don't speak our kindness as often as we should. Not being told you are appreciated can stay with you a lot longer than being told you aren't.

    Sorry to hear about your and EnglishBloke'sexperiences. My brother had the same thing happen when he returned from Viet Nam. Makes no sense at all.

    I like the video. In whatever way we do it, we should all acknowledge our appreciation for all of our service personnel. If you don't appreciate them and what they do, you need to seriously rethink that.
