Stillwater closeout sale
FYI Stillwater is having a closeout sale on some "blemished" items... plain black and brown sporrans, saffron kilts, some belts, etc. I can make no assurance of how badly blemished but the problems are apparently just cosmetic.
Get 'em while they're hot and extra cheap all ye bargain hunters!

Thanks for the heads up. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to pick up a kilt belt for $8.

Until I can find a nice sporran I went on ahead and picked up one of the "blemished" brown sporrans. It is fine for the price. The leather is stiff as heck, but as far as "blemishes" go, there is only one tiny spot at the very bottom of the sporran that is slightly darker than the rest, so, pretty well blemish free- maybe I just got lucky?

How can you beat $6.50 for a sporran?
Too bad the saffron kilts aren't my size.

Kilts have wings
My Closeout Saffron HW came yesterday and it looks great. I had to iron it but I don't have an ironing board so cleaned the kitchen floor, put down a clean light colored towel and away I went. Keep in mind this is the first time ironing a kilt and probably first time using my iron in like.. 3yrs?! It didn't go too badly. I left it to hang in the bathroom for the steam to do it's work as well.
For half the price of a Saffron HW, it looks good. Buckles work fine and look new, pleats look good (crisper now that they're ironed!). I did notice a few spots here and there that look like light water droplets. I'm trying to figure out if they can be cleaned out w/o a lot of trouble but they're hardly noticeable ( sporran covers 2 of them and 2 are almost at the bottom of the kilt). All in all a great deal!
I'll post pictures later - I plan on wearing it for our Thanksgiving hike.
