Trying out something new.
Well, tomorrow night is our St. Andrew's day ball and I had something of a dilemma.
After I injured myself I put on a bunch of weight. (And was lazy enough for so long that it stayed on.) Now, I've done a decent job and lost a fair bit of it, but I still have 38lbs to go.
As such, while my vest fits it is still just a little stretched and looks messy and makes me uncomfortable.
So I had a look around and something caught my eye. I've got no spare cash to go and buy something at Target, but a friend recently dropped a sort of netted/embroidered vest off at our place thinking someone here might wear it.
I've always wanted a nice silk embroidered vest in the Regency style to wear with a tailcoat and a Kilt, so I thought I would give this a shot.
It fits well and since it's black I think it looks O.K.
Bear in mind that while most of the gents tonight will be wearing Kilts, black tie it will not be. (Most of them come wearing whatever vest in extreme length and 'Native American' patterning that they saw at the store recently and liked with no jacket.)
So what do you think? Can I pull it off?
(I'll be wearing the Kilt posted beneath the pictures.)

Don't see why not! I might be a bit leery of it if it were a black tie event, but in the circumstance you've described, it seems perfectly reasonable.

Arlen, you fashion adventurer you! It looks bold, but I'm convinced that you can pull it off.

Thanks, guys. I'd never wear it to a truly formal event, but I think it'll more than pass muster for this evening.
Hopefully we'll have fun tonight. Last year was great but this year has been kinda stressful just setting the ball up!
Heath, I will post pictures tomorrow!
