I think we should be proud that he chose to wear a kilt. He sure isn't a cookie cutter Hollywood type.
99.9% of the world is none the wiser to proper kilt attire, etc.
Good on him for promoting a piece of his culture.
I think he would have a hearty laugh at many comments on here, he seems to be a good natured and witty fellow, not at all insecure in his masculinity. He sure is an interesting man.
About his Robbie Burns role, I doubt it could have been cast better.
Butler has incredible depth as an actor. There are legions of women (Google the fan sites) that follow Butler and I, for one, am glad that he will be turning many of them onto Burns for the first time.
Kudos to Butler.

You know, It's not for every formal event, but I'm kind of liking the black-out look, "murdered-out" as the kids say.

Out of curiosity I did a Google image search for Mr. Butler in a kilt. I guess this will show you some examples of his kilt-wearing fashion sense.

This is exactly the kind of stuff that AlanH was talking about in the General Kilt forum. Who says you can't wear a belt with a waist coat? Belts are for holding up what you do not want falling down. I wear a belt with a waist coat and I don't see anything at all wrong with it. I feel the same way about the shirt being open at the collar. It's HIS prerogative.
