I couldnt help but notice the 4 Irish provinces flag on the right.
Is the flag that's hardly visible on the far left old Northern Ireland flag with the red hand of Ulster and crown?

That's the Caledonia tartan in a USAK Semi-trad, it's a good Christmas tartan, very festive!

Yes, the "Ulster Banner" Northern Ireland flag. A red cross on a white field with the red hand and crown on a six pointed white star.

The Green flag is the green and gold 1847 "Erin Go Bragh" banner, this was carried by a group of Irish volunteers, including U.S. Army deserters, who joined the Mexican side in the U.S.–Mexican War.

I realise this... I've never seen the flags flown together though as they are very contradictory!

I wish I could have made it down there...but work has me driving in another direction... As I am typing this, I am sitting in a Dennys in Mt Vernon, Illinois.. with another 200 miles left of my drive.. lol I miss Texas..but I will be here for a couple months..

When I was at Chicago's Celtic Fest in September, one of the bands there included a Mexican contingent who sang a complete corrido about the Brigada de San Patricio. I had no idea about this note in history, but apparently they are still honored in Mexico for their bravery. No wonder! After the fall of the Alamo, all of them were executed as deserters by the U.S. forces, whom they had abandoned to serve with the forces of Santa Ana.

Just to be clear, the fall of the Alamo was in 1836, part of the war for the Republic of Texas (1836-1845) independance from Mexico! The San Patricios were in the Mexican - American war, (1846-1848) and were captured at the battle of Churubusco in August 1847.

The San Patricio's are indeed still venerated in Mexico and Ireland to the day,
