As plans stand now, I'll be driving down for the day. I'll be marching (strolling, really) with the Clan Young Society. May or may not have one of the grandsons along. It's a nice event. I manage to get there about every other year. This is a photo from one of the previous outings. http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...ome-and-garden

This sounds like a really great weekend. Maybe we can get something like that going around here.
Anyway, please be sure to post lots of photos for those of us who will be wishing we were there.

This is the 39th year for the Alexandria Christmas Walk and its actually the end of a weeklong series of events and activities.
The Walk a very festive occasion and everyone, both participants and spectators, have a great time. We have bands, clans, dog groups, charities, local celebrities and politicians, and a variety of others who stroll along the parade route chatting with the spectators, passing out candy (or receiving it from the spectators), etc.
As might be expected, there is a lot of tartan in evidence. A lot of clans follow up with lunch or dinner, and the pubs do well as might be expected.
It tends to be a cold day but it has never stopped the turnout. I've heard we may have snow this Saturday.
