Found tartan hose for sale
Someone over on my favourite highland dance board has a very nice pair of Kilkeel hose for sale. Think they could match xmarks tartan. Someone might get a good bargain!

If they had a yellow stripe they'd be absolutely perfect for XMarks tartan.

Grant, you can just get you some yellow yarn & duplicate stitch in place of the white---if a 9.5 inch calf will fit you. I think we're looking for a tall Xmarker built along young Sinbad's lines.
Actually i thought they'd go with Xmarks, Edzell, almost anything that includes blue---especially for evening wear.

Considering that Argyle hose, new, are going to cost you between $150 and $250 easily, assuming this pair is good quality and in good condition, $100 seems like a reasonable price. Does it really matter how much the current owner paid for them? The real question is what are they worth.

From a Mister Boffo cartoon:
Value: What the item costs
Real value: What you are willing to pay
True Value: A hardware store
Sorry. I don't usually get so far off topic.

if a 9.5 inch calf will fit you
Remember, these measurements were taken with the hose unstretched. They could easily fit up to an 18" calf. And, dance hose tend to be higher on the leg, generally right under the knee, which is all to the good for bigger calves.
And, don't forget you can get the feet knitted longer if you had too. Since custom hose is so expensive (Kilkeel charges over $200) dancers have been known to have their soles reknitted longer when they grow out of the feet.
$100 for custom made hose is an AWESOME price no matter how they got them. Best of all, the money is going towards a highland dance studio and will ultimately benefit promoting Scottish culture.
