I don't like to wear my red kilt out, (RS) but I realize it is partly that I really don't like to wear red. Though it works well for around the house. That leaves me with a solid black wool, which I would rather not deal with cleaning, and a swk Gordon. I have a few on my wish list... (FEW?? lezzee Coke box kilt (need to get the permission from Cocacola still), Mich. State University kilt (didn't go there, went to EMU, same school colors, prob need permission for that too) Black Stewart (I have an ancestor or two in that line..), American Heritage USAK, Macdonald of some sort (wife's side), Dress Gordon (my mom's side) and possibly one from my Grandmother's side, we are close to finding out what clan that would be.) That's only 6 or 7 to go... at least 2 wool SWK for camping... anyways....
I don't know if you have to be brave to wear a kilt, the kilt will train you. It does it both quickly and slowly. One day your still trying to center the apron correctly and get the edge to your knees just so, taking minutes in front of a mirror to make sure it's right, then suddenly your jogging down the stairs fastening the buckles and never looking at a mirror even once.
