Jamie, I've really enjoyed my time spent on this forum with you as head moderator. I'm sure X-Marks will continue to be a great kilt wearing resource and community in the future because of the standards you've set. Thanks for your service here.

My dear friend Jamie, my apologies for allowing this thread to reach page 11 before I 'chime in', but I have only just tuned in to it today.
Well, this is something I thought would never come to pass - to my way of thinking, you and X Marks the Scot are practically synonymous - but your reasons for pulling back are totally valid and understandable. The family's gain is our loss but, at least, you will still be within reach (if needed) and you will still be able to contribute so much to the forum by your fine example and experience.
I join with the many contributors to this thread who have already expressed their gratitude and appreciation of all that you have done in recent years to keep the good ship X Marks on a true and safe bearing.
My love to you, Star, Sinbad and Xena - I am already looking forward to our next meet-up ....... in 2011!
Take care,
Ham.

Go on, take them, but in spite of you

Family comes first
WHAT?!?!?
I go away on my seasonal sabbatical, and this is what happens?
I can only echo the sentiments all ready expressed.
As sad as I am that you will no longer be a Moderator, I gladdened that you are not leaving the forum altogether, and look forward to your continued posts - as I always have.
It was a true joy meeting you and the family this summer, and I sincerely hope the trip will be repeated soon.
To you, good sir.
To your health, your happiness and your family!

My humble thanks
Everyone,
I have read all your comments and been overwhelmed by them. I kept wanting to write something but was just too choked up to. Everyone always hopes their efforts meant something. To read here all wonderful comments from friends and critics alike is a pretty amazing.
I will likely not be around that much till the New Year because of all the things going on with the Holidays and all, but I will be peeking in as best I can till then.
I really don't have adequate words to do justice to the feelings I have for all my friends here (both those I have and haven't had the pleasure of meeting in real life).
Let me say simply Thank You and offer my wishes to all for a Happy Holiday Season and a bright and prosperous New Year.
Sincerely
Jamie
