...I am now preparing to celebrate my 35th birthday for the 17th time in two months.

Really? That's a lot of celebrating!

I think one has to reach a'certain age' to really appreciate this:
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I heard old Weasel Mender orders his scotch & water with only two drops of water in it. At his age he can hold his liquor just not his water .

Yeah, well, there are two things you should not try to do:
1. Outdrink me
2. Get between me and the bathroom.

To quote a line from the movie "The Bucket List":
As a man gets older you learn three important rules:
1. Never pass up a bathroom.
2. Never waste an ............ (it's a male thing, not appropriate for family discussion but use your imagination)
3. Never trust a fart.
Three things that I am learning to take as great wisdom as I age.

Only that one's eyesight is so worn out that one is not able to see what is coming! Or, even if one could could see what is heading your way, one is too slow to duck! On the other hand my mind is still at the age of about 19, particularly if there is a pretty lady in the vicinity-----------the trouble is, I am starting to forget what to do next--------can any one tell me what comes next? No, on reflection, don't tell me!

I'm 51 and what keeps me going and feeling youthful is regular exercise, and drinking/eating in moderation.
