It strikes my eye as odd, too.

I've never been much of a fan of Prince Charlies in colours other than black.

At a kilt hire shop in Glasgow I saw a large photo of a model decked out in a white Prince Charlie, matching self-coloured/solid-colored white kilt, white fur sporran with white tassels, white shirt and tie, white hose and flashes...

Now, had the model been wearing white Ghillies they really would have had something, but alas. To come so close, but fall short, is sort of tragic.
