I basically agree with this. For me at least, trying to actually lose weight over the holidays is pretty pointless. My goal this year is to not gain; it is going fairly well: as of this morning I am *** pound as compared to two weeks ago. Much better than the +5 typical of prior years. I really haven't deprived myself of anything, just went a bit easy and then refrained from the seconds and thirds.
I'm down from around 200 this time last year to 190 now (191 this AM, as noted). The goal for the coming year is to get back to my college weight of 175.
