    New Wyvern Sporran(s)!

    Hey Guys,

I have been going back and forth with Donnie at Wyvern sporrans collaborating on a few custom sporran designs for a few more 'historical' looking sporran at a higher quality than our Buzz Kidder sporrans. The detail that Donnie puts into his hand tooling is AMAZING. Kelly went to Art school and even she was impressed.

Below is the first of 2 designs we'll be rolling out. These designs will be made by Wyvern, but will be exclusive to USA Kilts. We DON'T have stock yet... Donnie and I are fine-tuning the design and details, but this was the first prototype that is VERY close (for all 'picture' intents, it'll be the final design) to the final design.

The first one (and the only one completed so far) is the "Lion Hunting Sporran". Here's a picture of me wearing the sporran today in the shop and then a picture Donnie took of the sporran itself. I apologize for my slightly desheveled appearance... It was 8:30 AM when this picture was taken and I hadn't had my coffee yet.

... Of course I'll have to keep the first one for myself to make SURE the sporran works properly.

That's a really nice sporran. It really does look "historic" without looking costumy. (Is that a word: costumy? That's a word, isn't it? After all, this is English, and we can create words and not worry about the Academy coming after us.)

I am kind of hoping to find something like that in a brown that will suit for daywear and not be quite so cookie-cutterish as what one usually sees on the market. (God, I love English and its inherent creativity--cutterish!) I would be interested in Jock Scot's thoughts on that.

    Wow. What a great sporran.
When you stock them I think I'll have to order my first kilt accessory from the USA
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

I am with you on this one. This is a very similar design to one of the historical sporrans that I have my eye on. Definitely interested in one of these, and would love to see it in brown!
Excellent idea, and very well designed!

Wow... That is very very nice
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

We did it in black and brown (mixed) so it could be worn with either color, but if you'd like a brown BODY (what is the black bag on mine), I'm sure we could do that as well as a custom one.
