Thanks to all of you that have joined in to help me make this big decision with a little budget. I truly mean that. I have read, re read and read again all that you wise kilter have typed.
    I have gathered the following.

    1. Buy the best kilt you can afford.
    2. Wool is best...followed by PV ...followed by acrylic.

Here has what I have found and have been mulling over and over...and over...

Acrylic - $85 OTD in Saffron @ SWK

Wool - $137 OTD in Saffron @ SWK

PV - $140 OTD in Irish Heritage or Weathered Yellow(not enough like saffron)

    The Scotland Kilt Co
Package includes 8rd 10oz PV Kilt w/flash, sporran, hose, belt w/buckle, ghillie shirt and sgian dubh.

    heritageofscotland.com
I can put together similar items w/o the shirt.

    My questions are....
Is a machine made Pakistani wool kilt that much better than a PV?
Fit? Feel? Look? Swing? Length of life? ect.....anything I forgot?
Does the acrylic really pill and pull that bad compared to PV?
How is the acrylic for Fit? Feel? Look? Swing? Length of life? ect.....
What are you experiences with Heritage of Scotland and the Scotland Kilt Co?

This is going to be my 1st kilt and I wanted to have accessories to wear to. For roughly the same $$ as the wool I can get a lot with the PV, all be it basic entry level extras. I know Jerry @ SWK is GREAT to deal with. But the way to get saffron is to forgo the accessories or buy an acrylic. I could use existing socks, and put my leatherman (it's black) in the right one and not get a belt or buckle. I guess at this point I am just rambling and looking for experienced kilter advice. I just don't want to regret it later. I promise I wont hold any of you responsible. But I will shower you with thanks after the fact.
