With the exception of hiking the kilt up just a little, I would say you are ready for the party.

Agree, a fine look. Usually the turnouts we put together ourselves are pretty good efforts.
Just me, but I like to roll up my long sleeves onto my forearms when just wearing a vest/waistcoat. Course that may not work for the look/theme of the party.

Well done, Pete.

If the kilt wants to slip down, you an always hide some braces (suspenders to us Yanks) under the waistcoat. That might address the shortage of knees in the photo---always assuming it's not the camera angle.
The conventional wisdom is to have the camera about waist height; that'd be kilt waist, naturally.

I really like that look too. But only as a "casual" look which means no tie. If I'm wearing a tie and waistcoat, like at the office, I'll keep my sleeves down. Late in the day, I may take off the tie and roll me sleeves up. I just can't bring myself to roll the sleeves up with the tie still on for some reason.
For a party, the same thing might work as it gets late and everyone has had plenty to drink, where things get more relaxed. Or, say, if people go out for coffee afterward.
