John Hannah

I note that Scottish actor, John Hannah is in this here new Spartacus show on cable tv. I remember him very well from the US tv series "MD's", where he played Doctor Dalgety...who everyone assumed was Italian because of the character's last name (Dalgety/Dalgetti...). He was very good in that prematurely cancelled series and I've seen him in a few of the UK imports that show up on PBS as well.

Just a heads up on a pretty good actor who's on a series that's getting mixed reviews.

Beloved Kiwi Amazon Goddess, Lucy Lawless is in Spartacus as well...if I'm getting this correctly, she plays the wife of Mr. Hannah's character and has more than a professional interest in Spartacus and the other gladiators.

Lucy must look like a flippin giant next to him, coz Johnny H isnt that big is he? like less than 5'10" ish?

Well...y'remember that old story of Alan Ladd acting on a wooden box or their having to dig a trench for the taller actors to walk in while they were walking next to him? I think that the disparity is sort of part of the relationship between the characters, though....bear in mind that I haven't seen this one and am going on secondhand information...I understand that JH is the owner of a failing gladiator school (and thus some kind of Roman nebbish; from the Latin nebbus...) and his wife (Her Lawlessness) is a domineering Roman babe in the Livia-from-I-Claudius mode.

Ahhh...Lucy Lawless can tower over me anytime!

PS: Mr. Hannah had Jane Lynch in the cast of MD's with him, playing the antagonist to his good guy doc. Ms. Lynch, now on Glee, is no shortie, either...72 of our US inches tall.

He's 5'10 and she is one inch taller - not a huge difference.

Hannah looks fine in a kilt, but he broke my heart with his delivery of Auden's "Funeral Blues" in Four Weddings and a Funeral (which you can watch here) ...
