Kilted in the Land of Botox, fake tans and augmentation

    Rabble!! SCHooligans!!

Any congregations in Orange County? I think this place needs to have it's fake garters shook up every once in a while . . .

Let me know of anything near Costa Mesa, or we can start one!

    Cheers!

Sounds good to me!! I live just a few minutes from there . . . and after going to the REAL Auld Dubliner in Dublin last month, I don't think I'll ever go to one in OC again . . .

Any other kilted brethren in the area?

    Orange county Burns Supper

I know there is a Burns supper this friday at the Costa Mesa country club, but I'll be damned if i can find anything about it on the web. I got my invite through an uncle).
Starts at 6, or six thirty I believe, festivities run from 7-10 (poems, comics, pipers, and maybe a dancer. There's a no-host bar, dinner--and Haggis.
    The cost is usually $40.
Hope that helps. try calling the country club maybe?

Our Burns Supper in Palm Springs (by the Scottish Society of the Desert) was absolutely fabulous . . . and I made a few friends with the Nicholson Pipe and Drum Band from Westminster . . .

Hopefully we can get a few of them out and about for a kilted pint or two . . . let me know when a good night would be. Goat Hill Tavern is right down the street from me (well, a few short minutes, but still . . .)

    Thanks!

Used to live in East Anaheim in the 70s. Would love to go back to Knolwood's for a burger while kilted.

Is that the place my dad used to call "world's best?" like a big tent full of picnic tables? He went for lunch when we lived further away, after we moved in so he could lunch at home, we went on an occasional Saturday night. That would be a great place to go kilted. Is it still there? I oughta be on one of those road food shows or something.

I was raised in Mission Viejo and lived in Costa Mesa and Fullerton. Have many good memories of Knolwood's. Thanks for reminding me Riverkilt ... I will have to take the kids next time we see family in those parts.

Found a website for them, they have several locations and seem much more finished(upmarket) than I recall them. I too will have to try them out when I visit the Southland next.

Don't know if its still there. I loved the big burgers and thick bacon and where else could you order up a 40 to wash down your burger? I liked the open air one around Yorba Linda. Highway Patrol helicopters would land there for lunch! Them were the days.

Imagine that location is a subdivision now...woulda been a great place to go kilted!
