From kilt to nightwear
Tonight I'm attending a Burns Supper in Bowling, Dumbartonshire, last year I recited Tam o 'Shanter but this year I have been asked to recite Holy Willie's Prayer, I was asked just a fortnight ago, so for the past 2 weeks all that has been going thru my head are the 17 verses of this poem. Tonight, I will be grateful when I've done my recitation then life can return to normal, I will be able to sleep without the lines running thru my mind.
So I got a nightshirt from E-bay costing £10 and the local alterations and repair shop, made me a wee Willie Winkie nightcap, so this night is formal and I have been offered the facilities of the disabled toilet to change from kilt to nightwear. But believe me, bold John Barleycorn will play an important part in me appearing in a nightshirt which just goes down below the knees.
So lets hope ' the Lord will remember me and mine with mercies temporal and divine' plus a good memory

Best of luck, Jimmy. You'll show 'em how it's done!
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

I've considered learning "Holy Willie's Prayer", but now Asser 1 & I are talking about doing "The Twa Dogs" together next year.

Please try and get some photos. I am sure we would all like to see how you turn out.
Good luck,

You'll do a great recital. No doubt about it. Look forward to hearing how well it went.
