From right after Lughnassadh through the Christmas Eve service 2009, I attended the St. Brendan's Celtic Community in NW Houston most Sundays in my kilt and associated kit. Other than the pastor, I was the only one kilted most of the time. It was great. Samhain was a really extraordinary experience.

I wear a kilt to church. Not every time, but about one Sunday out of four.
It's always well received.
We share our building with several other congregations and I sometimes get there a little early and the other group hasn't quite left yet. I get the most looks then :-)
I just sit in the back and wait for my group. Take out my technochanter and play myself a few tunes

this past Sunday
This past Sunday I was what we call the "Deacon of the Day". This just means I did the offertory prayer and info about my family and myself was in the bulletin.
But my preacher and close friend made comment in great fun might I add about my kilt. I was not wearing it at the time but he related that I had Scottish ancestory and chose to wear the kilt in kinda honor to them. He said it takes a lot a man to wear a skirt. The congregation had a great time and I had many folks afterwards ask about it. We have a fairly large congregation and 2 church services. I spoke of it in both services.
I really enjoyed the good intended prodding.

I also wear a kilt to Church and I am always well recieved, (particularly by women old and young!), I do not have a kilt jkt and wear a windcheater stlye jacket in summer, often with a tie, but not in heat of summer open neck white shirt and the kilt and hose looks good and rpt, and in winter a longer suede 3/4 jkt ,or a good wool jumper.
It is now expected that I wear my kilt and if I didn't I know I would disappoint some in the congregation!

Last weekend I wore pants and a nice sportcoat, several comments...mostly "where's the Kilt?". Tomorrow is 5th Sunday, so I do soup after service for the the entire congragation, I'll be kilted of course...Just have to figure out which one I want to wear. What goes well with Split Pea Soup and Jalapeno Cornbread?

I've worn mine many times; its interesting because the church was originally German. The reaction is 99 % positive.

I wear my kilt to church once in a while, more often these days than in the past, and I've never had anything but positive comments, urgings to wear it more often, and inquiries when I don't as to why I wasn't in kilt. I'm Presbyterian and our church has tons of ties to Scottish tradition and ancestry, so it was natural that I begin wearing it. A few other gents now wear theirs on occasion now, too. We had our first ever kirkin' about a month ago, for a church of over 150 years old, and there were very few that didn't have on some tartan in some way or another. In fact, the more I wear mine, the more natural it feels.
Here's hoping you continue to have such great reception.

I usually wear one of my kilts to church. I started wearing one many years ago just to have fun with the high-school age youth group that I am an adivsor to.
I belong to a Unitarian Universalist church, so the youth are usually in tie-dyed shirts and jeans, so I went kilted to get their attention. They loved it that a "responsible" adult could be unconventional and now take pride in having a kilted advisor.
My co-advisor, a young lady, always wears pants to church and loves making comments about who wears the pants iin our relationship.
I didn't realize how well known I was for wearing the kilt until I showed up in my new USAK Albannach casual one Sunday and at least ten people (including both ministers) commented on my new kilt.
