Information:
Calling all North Americans of Welsh descent and everyone interested in Welsh culture and music.
ONTARIO WELSH FESTIVAL
STRATFORD, ONTARIO
April 30-May 2, 2010
The Festival will be held in the Arden Park Hotel, in the beautiful community of Stratford, located on the romantic Avon River and home of Canada’s famous Shakespearian Theatre.
It will feature all the favourite events that we have come to enjoy over the years including a traditional noson lawen on the Friday evening, children’s activities on Saturday morning, poetry reading and a seminar on Saturday afternoon, the grand banquet on Saturday evening followed by one of the highlights of the weekend-a concert by the renowned Llangwm Welsh Male Voice Choir from North Wales, and to top it all, two glorious sessions of hymn singing on Sunday. How can you resist it!
Make sure to mark it in your brand new 2010 calendars now.

Date noted and site bookmarked.
Now to check the family tree again - there were some Welsh in there, if I remember correctly.

Border collie perhaps?
RKilt's shop overlooks the beautiful Avon river, makes me wonder how Robert actually gets any work done.

Cardigan Welsh Corgi, actually.
Hmmm ... with Robert's shop so convenient, maybe everyone attending should gather there first?

I'm really glad to see the interest in this thread. A lady from the society sponsoring the festival contacted me via our St. Andrew's Society. Originally we had been a Celtic Society, and were affiliated with the Welsh National Gymanfa Ganu Association (WNGGA). The membership transferred over when we became a Scottish society, and I try to promote their organization even though I don't have any Welsh blood (that I know of).
I can't wait to see pictures!

It's tough but seeing as the river is frozen at the moment I tend to get a lot done, but then Big Mikey calls me up on Skype and it slows things down.
I'll be curious where some of the events are held aside from the hotel

Hmmm kilt night in Stratford with that smell of leather that causes money to fly out of Riverkilt's much worn wallet.
