Kilted on St. Paddy's Day??
Just a little survey: who will be wearing a kilt on St. Patrick's Day?
The last Irish festival I went to, there were quite a few in kilts. So, besides wearin' the green, I hope all Irish, ah, all Celts, will celebrate with the kilt. What say you??

Count me in! I wore my Irish National to our San Francisco St. Patrick's Day parade gig last year and will be donning the same kilt at a St Paddy's gig this year.

denmcdough,
I most likely will at some point during that day. I will be on duty until 1900 so I may find some trouble after work. I will also be on duty the weekend of the parade (the weekend before). However, the Sunday of the following weekend will be my day off so I just might break out the kilt that day as well and find more trouble.
Once I get an Ulster tartan kilt things will be a little more Irish-focused.

I went to a St. Patrick's day parade last year and the music was good, but the crowd was full of wee neds trying to show off. Sadly all the festivities for the event is similar in Glasgow... do I don't think I'll attend any this year.
As it is a Wednesday I don't think I will be kilted
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Remember, Saint Patrick was likely from modern-day Scotland (or perhaps modern-day Wales)!
That aside, we have an annual gathering in Greensboro, NC (used to be Laddie's and Duke's before it closed, last year was the Village Tavern) with a good number of local pipers and a strong showing of kilts. It's part of my masterplan, titled: "How the Irish saved civilization so that Scottish culture could take it over"
Cordially,
David
