Bob,
The kids will certainly be coming (though I doubt kilted).
However if it is raining then we will only be doing dinner and not hanging out at a pier, in San Francisco, in the middle of Winter, in the rain!
Cheers

However I will be kilted! I think this sounds like a perfect occassion to break out the trusty Inverness cape and deerstalker!
I fear that my Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess will not be donning one of her mini skirts for this evening though
Cheers

I have a feeling weather may impact our choices as well. Scooby is still sleeping extra to recover from last weeks cold, a late night in the rain is not in his interest. I need to talk with him and his mother about this...

The forecast is for rain and thunder in San Francisco on Saturday night, so although we will definitely meet for dinner, we will not be standing on a pier in the rain singing. We will be in the hold with the rats where all sensible pirates hang out when it's raining!
Be well,
Star

One of my pieces of fabric is oilcloth, but I haven't had a chance to work on it so far. I'd been thinking of a duster, but a cape could be fun.

The chantey sing is held indoors on one of the ships, usually the C.A. Thayer. It's usually fairly cozy, but I wouldn't call it warm. It should be fairly dry. Hot beverages help considerably.
Plan on dressing warmly. Kids are very welcome and the bawdy chanteys aren't sung 'till after eleven. Be prepared to walk a bit. A blanket wouldn't be amiss.
I usually park at the foot of Van Ness. There's also parking at Ghirardelli Square, but it costs.
Looks like we're up to eleven at this point, so I'll call and up the reservation.
Yay!

Ok, I've got a reservation for dinner at six, Pompeii's Grotto, for ten people. For the address, see Mike's post above. Italian and seafood, not too expensive considering its location.
We have a reservation for ten people for the Chantey Sing as well. I understand if the weather is rotten and cold some people may bug out. It seems to me the February Sing isn't usually too crowded, so it shouldn't be a problem.
See you all tomorrow at six!

By the way, the sing IS a flask friendly event! Given the weather, I highly recommend bringing a nip of your favorite brew.
