Sort of, but there is scientific reasons for following most of the Torah laws.
for linen and wool there is something to do with the moisture wicking properties of the two types of fabric together that cause it to be less than ideal or even healthy... (at least that's what I've heard.)
Also most of the dietary laws lend themselves to a very healthy way of eating.
