DVT Update
Thanks all who expressed their kind wishes following my deep vein thrombosis which I incurred from my flight home from Los Angeles last October.
My appointment with the consultant yesterday went very well. He said that the swelling in my left foot and ankle was quite normal and that many DVT patients had much more acute swelling at this stage due to permanent vein damage. He says I should make a full recovery so the doc will be withdrawing me from taking the warfarin tablets by mid May and I should be fit to fly to Boston in September for my clan gathering, so long as I drink plenty soft drinks, wear flight socks, and keep active during the flight. Boston isn't quite so far away, its on the near side of the USA from Scotland so I can get daytime flights in both directions. No Pacific Coast for me this year!!

Good news, Alex! We have a house in Cape Cod, just down the coast from Boston. When you know your plans for September, I can try to get up to the Cape and get together...We're just 70 miles from Boston!

It's good to hear that you're recovering well, Alex. Too bad you can't make it out the west coast, but at least you're allowed to fly, so good on you!

I'm glad to hear the Doctor's visit went well.
Nothing new here in Garmisch, just more snow, snow, snow.

Great news, Alex! We'll still miss your West Coast swing but I'm sure the Right Coast rabble will take good care of you.
