Actually, today is Paczki Tuesday in Chicago. Pronounced poonch-key (you thought that Scots was difficult!), it's basically what most folks refer to as a Bismarck or a filled donut. Several organizations have used the opportunity as a fundraiser and sold these artery-cloggers the same way the Girl Scouts sell those cookies.

The Jewel Foods near me cranks them out and I'll be stopping by to pick up some of the custard filled belly-bombs later today. But then, I have a cholesterol level of, like, 160 and I live on stuff like this anyway....genetics are wonderful!
