That specific picture might not be the perfect one, but I heartily recommend that if any kilt is shown, it be an XMTS.
Chris is a fantastic photograper. I have always been amazed with the beauty he captures with his scenery shots. He is also very talented in photoing the best side of his subject!

I vote Steve's. It sums up everything X Marks is about.

Steve's photo is grand but I would slightly change the angle of the photo...
1- to give a lesser impression of the marching Russian army
2- to see a wee bit more of the sporrans
Please also work on the contrast to get sharper colours.
Still I think I prefer Redshanks photo of Mael Coluim but the kilt should be lighten (photoshop).
Best,
Robert

I'm not a photo shop expert by any stretch of the imagination.
If a member of our forum is we can send the raw images to them to work on when we have decided.
Does everyone see how the photo must be cropped? The final size will be 100 pixels tall by 960 pixels wide. This is why my first thought was of a landscape.
I found this photo on my disc from the night we did the hand-over of the site. The legs in the photo are of BEEDEE, Splash_4, Big Mikey, myself, and Panache.

Tch. We knew who they were, Wizard. You didn't have to waste forefingerprints telling us.
I like the idea and I understand the desire to have the X Marks tartan, but I think it might be better to stage the photo and use ten or a dozen tartans instead of the one, uniform, pipeband image.

Rex, I totally agree that a good photo should be one that we had specially made for this. Good lighting, good camera, good photographer.
I just had this on my computer and was trying to give everyone an idea of what we would need for the site.
It's strange how what looks great at normal ratio looks really weird when cropped that drastically.

Just bumping this thread as the current photo reminds me to much of a 1940's German propaganda pic

Yeah, those National Socialists sure were big proponents of blue kilts!
