At the Kentucky Scottish Weekend last spring several of us had discussed a gathering at a specific location (a large white cross) in the park at a certain tiem on a certain day. One of us (I think it was Jdot) then made small ID badge sized laminated badges of the Saltire with Xmarks printed over top of it, and then sent them out to us to wear so we could recognize one another at the gathering. Great idea, worked fine. Probably unnecessary in our case becasue there were only about 50 people there and half of them were pipers, and only a few of the remainder were kilted. But this could be another "badge" way of identifying onesself as an xmarker in the crowd, if the cap badge and dandelion are unavailable and you did not own or were not wearing an Xmarks tartan kilt. If I get a minute tonite I will photo the badge and post it---visible enough but unobtrusive to those who would not know what it meant, and might even get some questions that generated interest in joining the forum.
