I've got one of those Blaklader hi-viz kilts. I got mine to wear to Burning Man last year. It got tons of compliments out there on the playa, and I could be seen at night. :-) It's even brighter in person. Pictures just don't do it justice. LOL

I think that reflective kilts look cool. I could see myself wearing one around the neighborhood as I like to go for a walk at night after dinner. I went on their website and it might upset some of you to know that you have to click on "workpants" to find their "Glasgow Kilt". The only thing that I don't like about it is the two pockets in the front. It kind of makes it look like it is on backwards or one's rear end is on one's front end.

but they are listed as nail pockets, not that I would put a couple of pounds of nails in them. They are reminiscent of 21st century kilt pockets .

I understand that they are supposed to be a substitute for a carpenter's apron and that they do hang down like Utilikilt pockets; I just think that since they are so close together it looks more like rear pockets. I am also now wondering what it would feel like to crouch down with those pockets full of nails since it looks like they would slide towards one's groin instead of off to the side.

    Brian,

When I saw this thread, I thought "Wow, that would by great for the Playa at night!" Little did I realize it had already been done (and with an entire matching ensemble, no less. ) I guess its true what they say about great minds thinking alike. Sadly it would bust my budget to add one to my Burning wardrobe, but if you want to rent yours out for this year's burn drop me a line.

    Best regards,

    Jake

I should look into one of those for firefighter training. I know the other fellas would get a laugh out of it. They are all pretty envious of my UK...though it doesn't work on fires for obvious reasons.
