I prefer hose up, myself.

But I have followed this rule of thumb on occasion.
Of course, if it's that hot and/or dry, I'm probably wearing low shoes (not boots) so my hose (if I'm wearing them) are pulled up.

Spurs!? Are you a kilted knight, or a rodeo rider? I want pics, just to see!

The answer seems to be yes. Hose up or hose down. I usually wear mine up when I wear boots, not for the fashion or lack thereof, but because I can't stand them scrunched down.

I think that it comes down to personal choice. Personally I prefer to wear mine up with my Doc Martens, my work boots I don't really have a choice other than up because I wear 16 inch lineman boots for lower leg protection because I unload trucks and stock shelves at Walmart thankfully they have no problem with my kilts

To muddy it further... I even wear my flashes with my hose up- when it's cold out, of course.

IMHO (haha just wanted to type that) I personally don't like the scruntched look. I think wearing them up looks better and put together. Scruntched hose, to me, have a very 1990's look to them and who wants to revisit the 90's? Not I said the cat!
Good friends and good beer! Thank God that I'm here!

I wear mine down with boots. I don't have a problem with the feeling, and I'm not going to be wearing flashes with boots, as I find that it looks akward. To each thier own, but my rule is: ghillies = hose up w/ flashes; boots = hose down w/o flashes.

If I have kilt hose on they are up. If I am dressed very casually and I am wearing regular socks, for instance, in real hot humid weather, then I scruntch them down. Although I usually wear hikers, not boots.
