    I love the look of the waistcoat on the bias, but I fear that it may be a bit too much with my tartan... I'm thinking of getting one eventually and wearing it with a solid color kilt.

    You know, I had that same thought! I want to get one in the Albannach tartan just for that purpose! It would look killer with my olive green Amerikilt for more casual occasions, and it will look even better with my kilt of matching tartan.
