The vest is made in China, and is a light Polyester blend. Lets just get that out of the way. The buttons are from 3 feather pewter and are the squared lion buttons.
The vest is a traditional cut with an inside pocket and 2 front. While the vest is light, I'm actually EXTREMELY happy with it, because of the hot summers we get here, this could be worn without having to worry about over heating. These would be very comfortable if you are piping. The quality buttons balance out the vest and add some custom character (You have like 5 styles to choose from.) ALL -in all, I'm EXTREMELY happy with this vest and the cost. If you are a chronic vest wearer like myself, you should absolutely invest in a couple of these. I will be ordering a couple more in the coming days-
NOW-My 4 yard kilt pleated to "Skye's Fancy"-Finally got it pressed and am MUCH happier with it. The pleats are very deep, so there is a nice hold and swish. There is a definite difference between the feel of my 5 yard kilt vs. this one, but I'm actually liking how light it is. I'm wearing it all day today, so I'll update how it holds out.....I'm hopeful this will be a viable style for the hot summers here-I'll post a final review tonight and update this thread. HEre are the obligatory shots of the vest and kilt-
I don't like the rosettes in that color choice. I'd rather see them in plain, solid colors, since they are of regimental origin and that is how they are presented. Great looking kilt though!

Day 2 of wearing my new vest. Tonight I'm going out in a little more than casual setting, but it is California, so its white t-shirt and the vest. Hopefully the traditionalist police won't hang me for such inappropriate stylings, but thats me and I wear exactly what I want. Again, I'm very pleased for the price I payed. I WAS NOT expecting barathea wool, so I have no disappointments. Here I am for tonight (Solid color rosettes and all)-
I'm also pleased to say that my 4 meter kilt survived a full day of recreation and car driving with nothing but the smallest of wrinkles in the pleats. I am VERY happy about that and will surely consider making another should time permit.
