Well, Ron, guess what? There isn't a most distinguished title for Hamish.
Be well,

I pray that will soon be changed and appeal to the mods and ownership to so consider one.

Although the automatically generated "titles" are gone, and that may be for the better. Post count for title is not as good as post count for quality of information given.
Our screen names are only one reflection of who we are. Mine is based on my middle name (and the one I use). I have no reason to hide from anyone. That is my opinion, others may vary. I also enjoy the creative screen names that people have come up with. A screen name of "kilted locksmith" would describe me and you could probably come up to Boston and find me that way much faster than the SteveB that I have chosen to use. The logo on my service truck does get attention.
I do hope that some of the titles remain, as they are an indicator of the person's contribution to this site. My first thoughts are Kilted Historian (Cajunscot, AKA Todd), Kilted Pilot (Cessna192towser, AKA Alex), Kilted Photographer (pdcorlis), and many others.
I value this site and enjoy the many hours spent here. I have not posted very much recently. One reason has been resolved with the new format site. The previous "upgrade" to vBulletin had a few of us unable to work the site. Several of us simply "lurked" as the site would not let us log in, or stay logged in. It was easier to lurk and fight the log in issue when I really had something to say. My daily post count has dropped, and I certainly do not care. At least now I can finally get the site to know that I am not 11,439 posts behind on my reading.
Have a few cups of coffee and enjoy the forum for the kilts.

These changes showed absolute no respect to the members that helped to shape this online community. It had done nothing but to feed the ego of the new owner.
Since this is no longer a community that I loved and cared for, this may be my last post.

But, of course, your last post will be deleted Raphael. In the new rules this is very clear, as well as the commercial nature of the site.

Having personally been on the voting staff for many of those, I can attest that this is 100% accurate. I find it very disappointing (to say the least) that anything other is being put forth as truth.

I personally voted on each and every one of these titles, and each were voted in by unanimous decision.
Steve, you've put forth that the titles were given by a single person and/or "on a whim" however the only solo action or whim clearly seems to be your taking them away. If you don't like them (which you've made no secret you don't) then take them because you don't like them. But please, do not insult the previous voting and assigning staff by putting forth a fabrication to justify your actions.

Oops, just read the new rules. Found the rule saying that "goodbye" posts will usually be deleted.
Can't say that I'm in complete agreement with all of the rules, and to be honest, I liked the titles, they were fun.

I already miss the titles, both rank and given. They gave character to a community. Without them, it's starting to seem merely an informational board.

I would like to thank everyone for their comments, suggestions and concerns so far.
I will be bringing all of the comments about errors in the program to the attention of Chris, but he is in the UK and will not be available for a few hours yet.
Those comments and suggestions about the look of the forum will get fixed. I too agree that the site is bright. We have gone through four changes, darkening it each time. We are trying to find a happy medium between a stark white sheet and a black gaming site. The colors of the windows and panes and blocks of the site are fairly easy to change, but after looking at this site for hours each day and trying different combinations of colors and tints it becomes hard to tell when you get it just right. Each monitor is slightly different. I've looked at the site on seven monitors and I thought we had it.
I thank those who voiced concerns. All concerns are valid and valued. Thank you for having the conviction to state them.
