bugs in the new forum
Ladies and Gentlemen,
There are currently three or four threads where people are posting what they see as bugs in the new look to the forum.
If you are experiencing any problems (This means errors, mistakes, or bugs) please post them here so they will be all in one place for Chris to take a look at.
When you post please include a screen shot so we will know exactly what it is that you are seeing.
Also please, include any other information that will help us to troubleshoot the problem such as what type of computer you are using with what software package. (Windows XP, Mac OS etc.)
Also what browser you are using to view the site. (Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari etc.)
I will have Chris look at this thread to determine how best to fix any actual problems.
If you have suggestions of things that you don't like such as the background color or the layout of certain portions of the site I will start another thread for you to post those in.
Thank you all for your patience. There are always bugs in any new release. We will fix them as fast as we can.

In the User CP box on the right, I keep getting notifications of New Posts (1 earlier and now 2), yet when I click New Posts (there and at the top of the page) I get the "sorry, no new posts" page. Earlier today when it happened, it randomly fixed itself, but seems to be staying and now adding up. I use the Mark As Read feature every time I visit the page, but it doesn't clear it.
I see it on both my laptop (Firefox with Windows 7) and iPhone (Safari).

BTW, hope that is clear enough. I'm on the iPhone which can be a pain to post with for me much less posting a screenshot. Sorry about that!

I would like to thank everyone for their comments, suggestions and concerns so far.
I will be bringing all of the comments about errors in the program to the attention of Chris, but he is in the UK and will not be available for a few hours yet.
Those comments and suggestions about the look of the forum will get fixed. I too agree that the site is bright. We have gone through four changes, darkening it each time. We are trying to find a happy medium between a stark white sheet and a black gaming site. The colors of the windows and panes and blocks of the site are fairly easy to change, but after looking at this site for hours each day and trying different combinations of colors and tints it becomes hard to tell when you get it just right. Each monitor is slightly different. I've looked at the site on seven monitors and I thought we had it.
I thank those who voiced concerns. All concerns are valid and valued. Thank you for having the conviction to state them.

At some point last night, the New Post count in the User CP finally started working right... so far today it's been working right, too. Just wanted to update my posts.

Cross-posted from the 'Disoriented' thread in the 'General' section:
I see the ads in the XMarks Partners area as wider than the window instead of auto-resizing. The boxes appear to be the same size, they're just wider than the window allows.
I also have an issue with the forum centering when reading the thread and the window is not maximized to the screen. I have to move the bottom scroll bar to the left to catch all of the text.
Plus, the default colors do make it difficult to read the text. Dark gray text on an off-white background overlaid on a white background with gray borders is not easy for the eyes to deal with. There's just not enough visual contrast.
I agree with Kiltshot that the tartan title bars are too busy to easily read the text they contain. There's not enough contrast with the white/gray lines in the tartan to distinguish some of the vertical lines of the white text. If the text were red it might work better, but some people are color-blind and won't see the text at all then.
FWIW, I'm using Internet Explorer Version 7.0(.5730.13). Screen resolution set at 1024 x 768 pixels on a 15" LCD monitor.

This is the first time I have checked the new site with IE 8.0 and a screen resolution of 1208x800px. the site obviously does not dynamically resize for smaller screens and tht is why the RHS is partially cut off and out of place.
Is not aproblem with my sytem at home on firefox and a wide screem.

Bug?
As of this a.m. I can no longer reach the forums directly from the main page using my Macbook, OSX, Firefox 3.6. I had to take a back road to get here...
This is what I see.

colors
I looked this morning and everything seemed fine. When I checked tonight, the posts are all black print on fairly dark blue background. It's very hard to read. I'm using Windows 7 and Firefox. I don't know how to do a screenshot.

never mind
I logged off and back in and it seems to be the way I saw it this morning. I have no idea what happened.
