Chatelherault Highland Games - Hamilton

In a year when many games are falling by the wayside it is refreshing to hear of a new Highland Games planned for a new venue, Chatelherault, on part of the former estate of the Duke of Hamilton.
The games are scheduled to take place on Sunday 27th June 2010.

Chatelherault Country Park is a country park in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Its name is derived from the French town of Châtellerault, the title Duc de Châtellerault being held by the Duke of Hamilton.

The country park is centred on the former hunting lodge of the now demolished Hamilton Palace.

It should be interesting with the new games at Chatelherault, central lanarkshire does not have any games, nearest I think is Shotts.
Chatelherault now has its own railway station on the line from Glasgow to Larkhall and is easily acccessible from the M74.
