Well, folk. TartanRaven has been good enough to admit to his faults and apologise.
I think on an occasion like this it's good to remember that sometimes the anonymity of the internet can make it all too easy to inflate claims and, unfortunately, sometimes people make terrible mistakes.

We've had fraudsters on this forum before who couldn't bring themselves to apologise in the face of overwhelming evidence.
I'd say on this occasion we forgive and forget and, in true Xmarks spirit, help TartanRaven find something in his lineage and person to be truly proud of.


Now, I know this post went south fast and went on for a while. Now the the moderators are trying to use a more open and fair system to deal with forum issues it can take longer than before. We encourage you all to use the 'report a post' feature whenever you think it's needed and the moderators will deal with it as fast as is possible.

I think considering this thread has been resolved I'll lock it down, but I'm going to leave it open so people can see it and learn some lessons from it.
