Aye - then we'd refer it to Europe to see if the decision was all right with them.

But not before it's ratified by the Senate....
"Before two notes of the theme were played, Colin knew it was Patrick Mor MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children'...Sad seven times--ah, Patrick MacCrimmon of the seven dead sons....'It's a hard tune, that', said old Angus. Hard on the piper; hard on them all; hard on the world." Butcher's Broom, by Neil Gunn, 1994 Walker & Co, NY, p. 397-8.

Titles by post count never really got to me one way or another. I did notice them and occasionally commented on them. The post count, and join date still appear in the upper right section of the box (at the present time). If it matters to anyone.
Titles awarded by the Mod Squad, if that title applies anymore, were indeed an important function of the forum. I particularly miss the idea that the "Kilted Punster" would not have existed under the current structure. I looked forward to these titles as reflecting favourably on the person they belonged to. Kilted Order of the Rubber Chicken, Kilted Dragon, Kilted Curmudgeon, Kilted Coffee Connoisseur, Kilted Pilot, Kilted Photographer, Kilted Historian, Keeper of the Kilt Kollection, or any others that might be given, or have been given, add to the family atmosphere of the forum. I am one who has not had any awarded title, and no desire to attract one, but that is fine as well.
I hope most of my posts have been in support of the forum's goals. I hope to have been helpful to those that are new, and to have learned from all. The number of kilts is still in the user profile, if anyone cares. If it was important to me, I could add it to the signature line.
Many of us joined the forum with a screen name that seemed to be fine with us when we started, but it does not reflect who we are in terms of family history on the forum. The awarded titles did that very nicely. my screen name is SteveB, as in my real name Steve Brown. I could have used "Kilted Locksmith" as the screen name when I joined, but felt that as a newbie, it might not be appropriate, as only those that I do business with use the moniker to describe me.
I, like many here, do like to pick on Grant, whose screen name of "ccga3359" means nothing to me, but the "Defender of the Rubber Chicken", carries a far better form of recognition for his contribution here, and provides a warm social relationship between him and the rest of the forum. One of my visits to St. Catherine's and Kitchener, I hope will be about the same time as a SOKS get together, and I will make a point of invading my neighbour's to the North meeting. Kilted of course.
I would like to suggest that Jock Scot have the title of "Defender of Kilted Tradition" added to his posts, as it reflects well on his valuable contribution to this forum, and one of the reasons that I look for his posts.

I'll tell you what.
If Grant wants to change his user name to "Kilted Abuser of Rubber Chickens" all he has to do is send me a PM and I'll make sure it happens.
And that goes for anyone else. Don't like the name you chose three years ago or that typo you made when registering still bothering you? A simple PM will get you the user name you want.
