I have a leather kilt for forging, but alas, it will not be making the trip. It is a bit too "Roman" to really be a proper kilt for wearing anywhere but the confines of my own shop.

I do also have a hemp R-kilt that will likely see service for this trip, and one of my own attempts in cotton twill that works well in the shop. Sounds like the proper 8 yard 16 oz. would be the best thing for out and about though, and the tweed jacket. I will probably skip the sgian dubh this time for public outing (which pains me terribly, as I made it and it is a "salesman's sample" of sorts). After the dust clears from the class and forge-in I would like to try and get together with some of you on maybe the 13th or 14th ? I am pretty sure I can get internet access somewhere to figure it out as the time draws nearer.

Now to figure out the packing... What sort of weather should I be packing for ?

It is BALTIC at the moment. the still temperature is not too bad but the wind has a real chill to it.
NI and the highlands have been blighted by heavy snow and news of standstills and deaths abound. London is not too bad but something to keep the cold out would not be a bad idea.
It could of course pick up.......being the UK!!

The law states that if you are in Highland dress that wearing such is allowed as long as the blade is no longer than 4 inches. I checked this out while I was doing a Scottish Country Dancing demo in the Holborn Police Station in London.
