Even though the following picture has been posted before,
I thought I'd post this colour version from a period postcard:
26th (Highland) Brigade, 9th (Scottish) Division, Somme, 19. July 1916.
Caption on backside: Our gallant Highlanders, who love to charge the enemy to the skirl of the pipes,
are fond of playing their national music in lighter mood as seen in the picture.

Notes:
A piper of the 7th Seaforth Highlanders leads four men of the 26th Brigade back from the trenches after
the attack on Longueval on 14th July.
