Curious if many Ulster Scots participated in the battle and if so on which side. My kin were in Kentucky by 1749 so I suspect they were more focused on the new world than their old country.
Did the loss motivate many Highlanders to immigrate to North America?

Part of my remembrance of today's events, as mentioned in an earlier post, was placing my order for a long planned kilt.
Not that every kilt I've owned isn't special, but by ordering this one on this particular date, of a clan of mine that was a present force from the start of the '45 until its conclusion, I felt would impart an even more special significance in this kilt for me (hey, what can I say? I'm really a romantic at heart ).

I wore my USAK semi trad in the Stewart black tartan. I had planned to wear a red necktie. But decided to go with the matching bowtie to give a jaunty look that I think Prince Charlie would appreciate.

I had a number of teaching moments with members of the home owners association where I worked about Scottish history with it’s ties to our city of Fredericksburg. My enthusiasm for history must have come through as two commented I should be a history professor.
I wore my black Lewis hose that I had purchased from Matt at the Scottish Tartans Museum during his snow sale. I opted for white flashes which I like the contrast to the hose. Thought the color was also a nice touch for this day.

I ended my day at the Fredericksburg British Pub for dinner. Bar maid Annie took good care of me.

A toast to the Bonnie Prince finished the evening.
