The Poly Viscose used by SHO and USAkilts claims to be low pill, machine washable, has dozens more tartan options and only costs a comparatively little more than acrylic. That's the way I went. It should be here in just about 6 weeks.

I've had no problems with my SWKs and I beat them up fairly bad. Try a USA PV if you like (I still haven't pulled the trigger on one), it may cost just a few bucks more and take a little while to get to you. Some guys swear by USA--some by SWK. Either way, once you've got it (which ever you choose) post pictures and tell us about it.
