Keep us all posted on the buckles and the tassles. they would be easy enough to make, though.

I was hanging out with Gordon Walker earlier this year and asked him about the red laces, they're readily available at boot shops, shoestores and places that cater to the Doc Marten wearing crowd. The tassles are the problem, Gordon had red laces with black tassles, finding the red tassles is pretty difficult, you may find them in a shoe repair store in burgundy or cordovan but red to match the laces is a longshot. I'm pretty sure they could be ordered, like everything else in this strange world we live in, from China or Pakistan, but that seems more trouble than it's worth.
On another note, I wore yellow laces with black tassles to match my MacLeod of Lewis kilt for a concert last year, went great with black hose.

Indeed, it's no mystery. Red, or pretty much any color, laces are readily avalible from many sources.
