Nighthawk was a fairly common name among the Cherokee, particularly the "Kituwah" Band. As the KKK originated in the American South, it is not surprising that they would adopt a name common to their area of origin.

why worry ?
Honda has a motorcycle called the Nighthawk, and Marvel Comics has had a few Nighthawks over the years. There's tons of things called Nighthawk besides klan Security! And I've never confused you with any of them!

I seem to recall that Nighthawk was a call sign used in the BBC series 'Allo 'Allo.

If you let them have that kind of power, to control your name, then you have lost. Worse, the name "Nighthawk" will be solely associated in a negative connotation.

Keep it, by giving in even a little you are giving this group power, it may not seem like much, as for me the first thing I think about when I read your name is the Honda Nighthawk.
