Fascinating post. Thanks, a really interesting read. The losses of the 14/18 were terrible and the scale can be so daunting that it's easy to forget that behind each name on a headstone or memorial wall was a life. Stories such as this help to increase our awareness of the enormity of it all and keeps those memories alive.
