Catherine (Kate) McKinnon, Archibald McKinnon's* older sister, lived to the age of 107.
Although born in Australia, like the rest of her family her native language was Scots Gaelic,
and she did not begin to learn English until she went to school - in later years she would recall her first day
of school when she didn't understand a word her fellow students or teachers were saying.
She married Harry Conn in 1919, was widowed in 1951, and outlived all of her younger siblings.
Her birthdays were a sort of annual pilgrimage when family members would celebrate and gather
together at her son's home in Horsham until her death in June 1991.
She was laid to rest with Harry, and next to her parents, at Charlton Cemetery.
