"Prince Charlie" for £7.50!
Hi guys. I noticed this whilst having a browse through jackets on ebay. It appears to be a pretty good jacket made from wool and mixed fibres.
It seems as through it would be REALLY easy to 'convert'... a few shiney buttons and I think it'd make a great Prince Charlie!

I agree that it would make a great looking formal kilt jacket, but not a Prince Charlie, that would entail addiing tails, gauntlet cuffs, and where would the fabric come from?
Epaulets could be made from braid. It would be very much like the Military Mess Jacket when worn with a kilt.
A couple of years ago I converted a sport jacket into a Crail, while sucessful, it entailed a great deal of work.

Yes, I meant something like a PC... that's why I included inverted commas.
But even then, it's a good sacrifice and with the jacket being slightly longer, the tail wouldnt look right IMO. One button could easily be added to each cuff to match the style of more modern PCs, which go for a minimalist 'Crail' effect, or the sleeve could just be left as it is.
Either way, for £7.50 it certainly is a bargain!

Nice Jacket Paul... So nice in fact that the 46R should be arriving in Lancashire sometime soon. Not that I need it, it's just the £7.50 thing. I hate you Paul.

Paul,
Oh no, another person to hate you! You just have so much darn good stuff to expose us to. Keep doing it, so we can all hate you!!

Complimentary Waistcoat
I've been looking it over and it's an interesting beast. Without the tails and with the button front it seems to span a gap between the Argyll and the Prince Charlie and may serve double duty in a way. I may change the buttons although I don't know to what yet, but I can see getting good use from this one. It might actually look good with a five button vest in the way that this PC doesn't quite to my eye. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Green-Prince-C...item9bff29abcb
Any suggestions for equally affordable waistcoats to go with? It's a 23" length so it'll need to be short. Would a red/ burgundy or even tartan waistcoat go do you think?
