    Florida get together

Its been a while since we have had a gathering here in Florida maybe we could try to plan something for after Memorial day. Open to suggestions.

It has indeed been a while ... and I'm wondering if you meant "after Memorial Day," since that's next weekend and Labor Day is months away. I am also open to suggestions. JolyStNick has been wanting to get a friend to Fiddler's Green.

I didnt even realize i had done that, all that matters a three day weekend that makes it difficult to have a get together, indeed after memorail day. I know we would probably get more of a turn out if we did an evening event instead of a lunch... I will edit my original post so as to remove the confusion

As Iain posted, I have been using our Group site to arrange a Get Together for a long while and have had no responce from any of our group membership.

A dinner get together would fit the bill for Linda and I as well as for Gary and Terry,so if that is what it takes for the "Kilts of Florida" to have a get together, so be it. Let the ideas flow!

I hate to admit it but i honestly forget to look in the Group as often as i scan down through the section with all the states in it, guess i just need to assign an alert to our group so i will know when you post something there as well. As far as I am concerned Dinner and a few pints at Fiddlers is always a great evening out.

What about the Tilted Kilt on international? I think it's open now. I like formal affairs, but a nice relaxing pub meet would be gret during the memorial weekend.

After this weekend works better for me as well. My son has a soccer tournament this week.

And I also keep forgetting about the "groups" ...

Tilted Kilt locations in the Orlando area don't thrill me. There's one virtually on the front doorstep of UCF, which is bound to draw a loud, rowdy college crowd, and the one on I Drive is bound to be touristy. But that's just my two cents.

(And I do think that if you join their Kilt Club, you should have to wear a kilt. But now I'm just getting snitty.)

First ya always want ta remember ta check the community forum and go ta the group section and check under "Kilts of Florida". That's where I always post info and check what other members have posted.

Fiddlers Green has always been an ol standard for us and it is FAR from formal.
And definately not a tourist trap. Iain and I, as well as others have met there for both lunches and dinners and it has always turned out well. When Rollins College in in full swing ya have ta get there early on the week-ends but other than that it's a grand place for a meet & greet.

My experience is the "Tilted Kilt" has more of the "Sports Bar" look and geared to more singles, nothing wrong with that, I've been ta the one in Tampa for lunch and it was good! For most of us here the one on I-Drive is a bit of a drive being on the extreme West of Orlando area. But we are an open group and always listen to the groups suggestions.

As with Iain and others this week-end isn't good for me either, 2 lodge practices and Grand Lodge starts up on Monday, so I will be very busy,
So let us try to come up with a date soon after this long week-end!
    What say you Rabble? [/B]

    Aye!

(Gee, it won't let me post just "Aye!" so I'll put a little note on here noting that it won't let me post just "Aye!" but all I really want to say is "Aye!")
